Teaching, Coaching, Learning: The Virtuous Cycle of Empathy

This expression came to me first in English today. Then I looked for its French equivalent — which led me to “prêcher d’exemple”, the version listed in Larousse. A beautiful reminder that coherence matters, doesn’t it?
And I share this story because it reflects something essential in my work:
👉 I never ask my learners to do something I’m not willing to experience myself.
Behind the scenes: focus on humans, not algorithms
I’m not always active on social media, nor am I obsessed with pleasing the algorithm. Most of my working hours go into my clients: their words, their goals, their victories, their doubts.
That too is practising what you preach:focusing on what truly matters.
Teacher or Neurolanguage Coach®? A matter of posture
My work involves two complementary roles:
🔹 As a teacher, I guide, structure and explain.
🔹 As a coach, I accompany, listen and help learners unlock their own strategies.
Both approaches can be kind — if they centre the learner. But coaching requires one more ingredient: empathy born from lived experience.
Which is why I regularly put myself back into the learner’s shoes.
Learning to understand: Italian, German… and vulnerability
In 2023, I passed the Italian C1 exam — a milestone that brought both joy and considerable challenge.
Since then, I’ve gone back to learning German. And let’s be honest: it’s not easy every day.
I feel the hesitation, the fear of making mistakes, the frustration of slow progress…Everything my learners feel.
But I also experience what I want them to experience:
✨ the spark of an insight,
✨ the pride of a small success,
✨ the delight of seeing progress accumulate,
✨ the reminder that the brain loves learning.
Why I keep learning: putting humans back at the centre
This is why I aim to offer my learners a space where:
💛 they feel safe,
💛 they can experiment without judgement,
💛 they rediscover the joy of learning,
💛 they build genuine confidence.
That’s where transformation happens. And that’s why I keep learning, day after day.
Practising what I preach means putting ❤️ into the work so that 🧠 can sparkle. ✨
